Fairey Aviation Company Ltd. was established in
1915 and became one of the premier British naval aircraft
manufacturers. The company nearly went bankrupt during the Great Depression, but was kept solvent by orders for the Fury in 1935. Aircraft produced during the Second World War included the Albacore, the Barracuda, the Firefly, the Fulmar,
and the Swordfish.
