Liuchow (Liuzhou; 109.32E 22.84N) is a city of southern China. It was selected in 1943 to be the airhead for supplies staged from Assam through Kunming to support the fighter airfields of 14 Air Force in east China.
The city was abandoned to the Japanese 11 Army on 10 November 1944, at the height of the Ichi-go offensive. It was abandoned by the Japanese in turn on 28 June 1945, just as the war was winding down.
