Sapporo

Sapporo (141.379E 43.063N) is the most important port and city of Hokkaido. In 1941, there was an important Army base and an airfield here. The city was the headquarters of Northern District Army and was part of the 7 Division recruitment district.

Because of the city's location in the far north of Japan, out of range of the B-29s, it suffered relatively little damage during the war.
