The aircraft plant was raided by carrier aircraft on 16 and 25 February 1945. The 16 February raid failed to find its target due to poor weather, but the 25 February raid was able to inflict damage. The plant was raided again, this time by B-29s, on 3 April 1945, but little damage was inflicted because the B-29s lacked the equipment and training for night precision bombing.
