Ku Chu-tung (1893-1987)

Ku Chu-tung (Gu Zhutong) commanded the Kuomintang 3 War Area in December 1941.  Dorn (not always an objective observer) describes him as a brutal political hack who was better at killing Communists than the Japanese. He was responsible for ordering an attack on New 4 Army in January 1941, apparently acting on his own intiative rather than any specific order from Chiang Kai-shek.
