Lipa (121.15E 13.94N) was the location of a primitive airstrip south of Manila and east of Lake Taal in the Philippines. The Lipa Corridor was the most important north-south communications corridor in southern Luzon.
The airstrip was greatly improved by Japanese engineers following its capture in 1942, who constructed a concrete runway. It was recaptured by 188 Glider Regiment from 86 Airfield Battalion on 25 March 1945. Thereafter it became the principal airbase for 11 Airborne Division.
