Lowood (152.58E
27.47S) was a rural agricultural town of less than a thousand persons northwest of Ipswich in eastern Australia, producing primarily dairy products. It was the original terminus of the Brisbane Valley railway, established in 1884. There was an airfield at nearby Mount Tarampa used by Allied forces.
