Rashin (130.399E
42.334N) is a port on the east Korean coast near the border with Russia. The Japanese developed the port as part of
a commercial route from the Japanese ports on the Sea of Japan to the Manchurian railway system. This
made it important enough to be garrisoned by 19 Division and Rashin Base Force and a heavy artillery fortress regiment.
The city fell to the Russians on 12 August 1945.
