Rosario (120.510E 16.232N) is a road junction in Luzon southeast of Lingayen Gulf. Seized by the Japanese early in the first Luzon campaign, the town was recaptured by 172 Regiment on 28 January 1945 after a difficult struggle against 58 Independent Mixed Brigade, which had taken up strong defensive positions in the difficult terrain around the town.
