Hsi-k'uang (Xikuang; 111.483E
27.783N) is the center of a tungsten
mining district in Hunan province, southern China. The tungsten deposits here
are possibly the largest in the world, but were just beginning to be
exploited at the time of the Pacific War. Production was about 1700
tons per year.
