Naval History and Heritage Command #NH 97389
Beppu (131.50E 33.30N), a port on the Japanese home island of Kyushu, is a hot springs resort center, second only to Yellowstone in the United States for its heavy flow of hot water.
The port was raided by British carrier aircraft on 24 July 1945, which crippled escort carrier Kaiyo.
