Coalinga (120.355W 36.142N) is located in the rich oil-producing Kettleman Hills of central California. These produced about 25 million barrels a year, which was delivered by pipeline to refineries at San Francisco Bay or Los Angeles. The surrounding region is irrigated to produce cotton and truck crops.
