El Segundo (118.416W
33.911N), located on the southern
California coast near Los Angeles,
had a refinery
and port facilities for oil tankers.
There was a Douglas aircraft plant here, as well as the headquarters of
Sperry Gyroscope Company. The city was also the location of a temporary
War Relocation Authority center.
