Malabang (124.072E
7.591N) was the location of an airstrip
on the west coast of island of Mindanao.
24 Division landed at Illana Bay near Malabang on 17 April 1945. Filipino guerrillas from 108 Division had already occupied the landing beaches. The Americans rapidly advanced down Highway 1 towards Kabacan and its road junction.
