Moji (130.94E
33.91N) was a major port on the
island of Kyushu, with a population of 140,000 persons. It was located on
Shimonoseki Straits connecting the Inland
Sea with the Sea of Japan, and was connected to Shimonoseki by an underground railroad tunnel. Kokura Navy Arsenal was located nearby. About 29% of the city was destroyed by strategic bombing,
