Newcastle (151.783E 32.933S) is a small but well-equipped harbor on the east coast of Australia. Prior to the war, it was primarily a coal port serving the Maitland fields to the west. The Williamtown airfield was located in the vicinity, as was the headquarters of 2 Division, a militia formation.
