The village of
Richmond (147.438E
42.735S) is located about twelve miles (19 km) north of Hobart in Tasmania. It was the location
of a military airfield in
1941. When war broke out, the airfield based 6 Squadron
with 9 Hudson II; 9 Squadron
with 5 SOC Seagull; and 22
Squadron with 17 Wirraway.
