Shangkuan Yun-hsiang (Shangguan Yunxiang) commanded 32
Army Group when war broke out in the Pacific. He previously
commanded two divisions in
the encirclement of the Kiangsi Soviet that preceded the Chinese Communist
Long March, and he commanded 11 Army at the battle of Shanghai. He was involved in
the 4 Route Army incident of October 1940.
