Shihchiachuang (Shijiazhuang; 114.483E
38.041N) is a city and rail junction in northern China. It fell to the Japanese 1 Army on 10 October
1937, the defending 32
Army putting up
little resistance and retreating clear to Tangyin, south of Anyang. The
capture of Shihchiachuang allowed the Japanese to move troops along the
rail lines to Taiyuan and Anyang. The city remained in Japanese
hands until after the final Japanese surrender.
