Tokushima (134.556E
34.060N) is a port on th
east coast of Kyushu. The city was headquarters of a regimental district of 11
Division and had a population of about 119,600 persons
in 1944. A very small number of subchasers were
contructed at the shipyard.
Some 70% of the city, about 1.7 square miles (4.4 km2),
was destroyed by strategic
bombing on 3 July 1945.
