Chang Yao-ming (Zhang Yaoming) commanded 38 Army during the latter part of the Pacific War. Postwar he was responsible for putting down a pro-Communist demonstration in Nanking in 1949. He subsequently lost Nanking to Communist forces led by Chen Yi and Liu Po-cheng.
