The Kazahaya was completed on 31 March 1943.
She
was intended to be the first of a series of fast fleet tankers, but the
remaining units were canceled, a ghastly mistake on the part of the
Japanese. She was torpedoed on 6
October 1943 off Truk by Tinosa and Steelhead.
