Manjome commanded the Cebu garrison during the Allied invasion of March 1945. His men withdrew to fortified positions the island interior, then again withdrew to the north in good order beginning 12 April. Manjome apparently hoped to escape to Negros, but his force was surrounded and annihilated by 28 May.
