selected to participate in the Grand Conference that reviewed the Tentative Manual for Landing Operations
in December 1933. He commanded 1 Marine Aircraft
Wing during the Bougainville
campaign and AIRSOLS during the 1944 campaign against Rabaul. He commanded 1 Marine Aircraft Wing a second time during the Philippines campaign.
