Sand Point is the name of two locations in the
Pacific basic and surrounding areas.
Sand
Point, Alaska, (160.523W 55.315N) on Popof Island was the westernmost airfield
in the air bridge from Puget Sound
to Cold Bay that was completed
just as war broke out.
Sand Point, Washington, (122.259W
47.687N) was a naval air station located on Lake Washington
northeast of Seattle. Patrol Wing 4 was based
here when war broke out.
