The Smeroes were
completed just prior to the
outbreak of hostilities, at Surabaya
and Batavia. They were designed
with peacetime use as small cargo and passenger transports in mind.
All the units listed below survived the war. Two
additional units under construction were destroyed in March 1942, but a
sixth unit was completed by the Japanese 4 August 1942 as Cha-101.
