Tsuda commanded 105 Division under 14 Area Army at Los Banos, Luzon, from its activation in July 1944. By September 1944 the headquarters had moved to Naga on the Bicol Peninsula, and by January 1945 had moved again to Antipolo. The division defended the mountains east of Manila, which were important because of reservoirs supplying much of Manila's water supply. The division was all but destroyed by the end of the war.
