"Taffy" Davies commanded 25
Indian Division through most of the Pacific War, having previously
served in Iceland and India. Slim
considered him a brilliant staff officer. Davies survived a bout of
cerebral malaria during the
retreat from Burma in mid-1942.
The slogan in India
seems to be, "Isn't that Burma Army annihilated yet?"
