Davies, Henry Lowrie (1898-1975)

"Taffy" Davies commanded 25 Indian Division through most of the Pacific War, having previously served in Iceland and India. Slim considered him a brilliant staff officer. Davies survived a bout of cerebral malaria during the retreat from Burma in mid-1942.

The slogan in India seems to be, "Isn't that Burma Army annihilated yet?"
