Shimizu Noritsune (sometimes misrendered as Shimizu Kinori or Shimizu Tsunenore) commanded 5 Army under 1 Area Army in Manchuria in September 1944. His army was responsible for the defense of the Mutanchiang Plain of northeast Manchuria. His army was crushed by 1 Banner Army almost from the first day of the Russian offensive, 9 August 1945.
