The 3As were standardized cargo vessels.
They were designed for mass production rather than commercial economy,
like the American Liberty Ships.
However, they were a bit sturdier and faster than the 2As, which made them a bit
less vulnerable to submarines.
Only one of these ships was launched in 1945 before the surrender.
The Tobata Maru, which was
completed on 15 May 1945, survived the war.
