The Djembers (also known as the DEFG class) were
completed just prior to the
outbreak of hostilities, at Surabaya
and Batavia. Most were scuttled when the Japanese invaded Java, including an additional three incomplete units, and many of these in turn were salvaged and recommissioned by the Japanese.
