Hara Kenzaburo

Hara commanded Destroyer Squadron 5 at the outbreak of war. He also commanded 1 Surprise Attack Force, which was responsible for the seizure of Aparri. He later commanded the escort force for the western prong of the attack on Java, in February 1942, and participated in the Battle of Sunda Strait.
