Modifications
1943-2 (Manoora) and 1943-6 (Kanimbla and Westralia): Converted to landing ships armed with  1 4" gun, 2 40mm Bofors antiaircraft guns,  2 2pdr antiaircraft guns,  and 12 20mm Oerlikon antiaircraft guns. Davits added for 16 to 24 landing craft.


The Kanimblas were completed as civilian passenger ships during the 1930's and converted to armed merchant cruisers upon the outbreak of war. They were later converted to infantry landing ships.
