Katagiri Shigeru (1892-1944)

Katagiri commanded 20 Division under 18 Army at Gali (near Madang), New Guinea, in September 1943. He marched his troops 200 miles to reinforce Finschhafen but was held at Sattelberg and forced to retreat on 25 October 1943.
