Saeki (Saiki; 131.92E
32.97N) was a port and the site
of a naval air station on Kyushu. It commanded Bungo Suido, one
of the entrances to the Inland Sea.
Saeki Air Group was based here
with 16 D1A "Susie" dive bombers when war broke out in the Pacific.
The naval base later became a training center for antisubmarine aircraft crew.
