Matsuyama Mitsuharu (1891-1959)

Matsuyama Mitsuharu received command of Cruiser Division 18 in June 1942. His unit participated in the unsuccessful invasion of Milne Bay, and he was recalled to Japan in early 1943. Retired in 1944, he was recalled to active duty to command escort forces in the final year of the war.
