Edo Heitaro (1890-1945)

Edo Heitaro commanded Kii Guard Force when broke out. He later commanded Ozawa's escort forces at Leyte Gulf. Assigned as first commander of Escort Squadron 31, which was to have participated in the reinforcement of Leyte, he went down with his flagship, Shimotsuki, when it was torpedoed by submarine Cavalla on 25 November 1944.
